As we begin our journey into higher education in the world of technology, I find myself at a crossroads. I have always been one of if not “the tech guy” in my circle. After taking this survey and being true to myself, there are couple of things that I learned. One, I do not know as much about technology as I thought I did and second, I need a new circle.

Many of the choices that I chose surrounded me and what I can do. I would like to be able to share my knowledge with others and be able to develop their understanding of tech. I do understand how some people can get frustrated or might not catch on as easily as the next. I can comprehend the a student’s reaction of wanting to give up because I have to think. Yet, I have to take in the victories of some of my wins as well.

From the survey, I have some skills I need to work on such as information and data literacy as well as digital content and creation. I will continue to be attentive, ask questions of my team, my fellow classmates, coworkers especially my school librarian. An opportunity to bring attention to the areas which are not as efficient as others need time to grow an be nurtured.

I also recognize in communication and collaboration with knowledge of safety were on par with the average of others. My above average for me would be problem solving. I am proud of myself being able to resolve issues that with technology and using that as a platform to changing others’ opinion about how we use technology as a critical component. I look to be a helping hand for those students who need guidance and support. Until next time…
