Our greatest flaw as educators is the belief that students, our peers, as well those we train want to be lectured. The more we are engaged as learners, the greater the possibility of the learner retaining the information. It is one thing to know the information; however, when conveying the information, we should continuously create the energy around our subject matter.
A new culture of learning will be developed by those are willing to take a chance. We growth internally by tending to core of communication with passion and love. This is not always share equally. I look at technology as an opportunity to rewrite the narrative for learning. Gains can be made when educators are willing to commit to developing a concept of bringing knowledge of content to the engagement students have with technology. I will admit the undertaking and the fortitude to continue the path when student engagement is waning and the impact of the lesson is not what you hoped. Sometimes, when hope is lost, it takes a simple engagement of learning to spark and faith to see your treasure. We would love for students to gravitate to our teaching styles, be wowed by a vast understanding of a concept and how it’s a game changer for them.
These significant learning environments will develop with fidelity to the purpose of change. While some teachers may build learning for the day, or maybe the week, it is important to build for sustainability. Culture is not built for the short term. It is a constant revision to be fostered daily, weekly, to build and watch the growth.

Education can be a fickle idea for most people and the idea of changing what learning should look like can an uneasy road to travel. This is especially true for students who are not use to thinking for themselves. Based upon the current learning environment of using a disruptive model to teach, I have come to realize more than usual, we are not creating free thinking but individuals who are afraid to think. Students are tasked with thinking outside of the box; yet students, do not have the experiences to have an opinion. This is actually an idea model for developing a significant learning environment for learning. When a student has a true opportunity to learn something new, the engagement level is heightened and students are to let their guard down to trying something new. This is can be a problem can have when developing a strategy for learning based on student engagement. Additionally, a cultural understanding of what the school and the administration deems important to the growth of the school can contribute how significant your environment of learning will be.
